A man who allegedly sold synthetic drugs from a local business to an undercover officer has been arrested.

Jony Sikder, 24, was taken into custody Monday morning and charged with sale of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a convenience business, according to his Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

Sikder came under investigation after he sold the undercover officer “Green Lotus,” or synthetic marijuana, from 5 Brothers convenience store on James Lee Boulevard, the report stated.

His arrest came after the Florida Attorney General signed an emergency rule declaring the synthetic drug illegal and after the store had been notified by law enforcement to immediately stop selling the product.

Sikder was working the day the letter was received and the synthetic drugs were voluntarily confiscated.
